We often hear that phrase “stress eating” whenever people run into a stressed state. Stress causes so much mayhem in the body making it unleash certain hormones that makes people indulge to eating. Stress affects food preferences. Most people succumb to eating food that are high in fat and sugary comfort foods when stressed. Since these foods actually make them feel a lot better, the effects of doing so push people towards overeating.
While eating those comfort foods in excess actually help them cope with stress, it is mostly mental. Keeping those comfort foods handy is just actually inviting trouble for your weigh that is.
