New research shows CBD has many beneficial medical properties

The use of marijuana as medical treatment is not new news. But the recent studies have shown the use of CBD (or CBD vape oil) is interesting. This is one of the compounds of marijuana that does not create the intoxicating effect has shown promise for many diseases. The studies conducted have focused on specific diseases, illnesses or conditions from PSTD to life-threatening cancers. Though it has been long known this substance could be helpful in medical treatment the studies now show it may be far more helpful than earlier medical studies data.

CBD Biology

Marijuana has over 80 active cannabinoid chemicals and CBD does not produce the euphoria effect its studies have shown that it interacts with the receptors on cells in the brain and body. Studies show that there is evidence that the interaction between CBD and the brain may have important contributors to therapeutic effects. This result in some studies has proven it can be useful in treatment for some long-term medical conditions.

Medical Conditions CBD Maybe an Effective Treatment Element

Neuroprotective properties of CBD found in cell cultures during studies show it could be an effective treatment for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), stroke and Parkinson’s disease. In two recent studies, Sativex under the trade name Nabiximols containing approximately equal portions of CBD and THC shows an effective treatment for the spasticity found in MS patients and has been approved for use in most of Europe.

In a study by Manuel Guzman Ph.D., professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Madrid Complutense University found CBD helped cancer patients. As an effective treatment in cancer patients, it alleviated nausea, pain, vomiting and stimulated appetite. The study also found the compounds helped to inhibit the growth of tumor cells in culture and animal models by modulating key cell signaling pathways.

In a 2000 study, the compound showed an effective treatment in the treatment of arthritis with anti-inflammatory benefits.

A study conducted in 2011 CBD  was effective in the limbic and paralimbic areas of the brain making it an effective treatment to reduce anxiety.

In a 2013 study involving Crohn’s Disease CBD was found effective as support of anti-inflammatory of the digestive tract to control the inflammatory response caused by the disease.

Insomnia affects a large portion of the world. It is estimated that nearly 50 percent of people in the United States have been affected by insomnia, with 10 percent of patients having been diagnosed with chronic insomnia. Insomnia can affect any age group and gender. Studies have shown that women are affected more then men. Below is a list of available treatment methods for Insomnia.

 

Meditation

Studies have proven meditation and deep breathing as a great treatment method for insomnia. While meditation isn’t a traditional pill or liquid, meditation is a natural source with no side affects. Meditation teaches you to relax your body in ways people never realized. Its important to remember that sometimes insomnia is caused by an underlining stress or anxiety. Meditation and focusing on deep breathing helps relax the body, while keeping stress hormones in check. Many people can learn to meditate by watching free videos on various websites.

 

Cognitive Behavior Therapy

A talk therapy called Cognitive Behavior Therapy is a way for people with insomnia. CBT is a focused discussion that helps the body refrain from negative thoughts, negative behaviors, and emotional challenges that can cause stress. It is noted that stress plays a major role in insomnia. The therapy is a more natural approach to insomnia then medication, which can often bring unwanted side effects. CBT also creates other behavior programs such as; going to sleep at the same time every night, waking at the same time every day, and no afternoon naps.

 

Medications

Multiple sources of medications can be given to insomnia patients. A majority of people with insomnia will choose the medication route in the early stages. Doctors can prescribe a long term prescription for antidepressants or stronger sedatives. Some forms of insomnia is caused by depression, which is why doctors will prescribe antidepressants. Sedatives help for short term sufferers of patients. Some forms of medications can also be bought over the counter without a prescription. Side effects can occur so please speak with your doctor before taking any kind of medication for insomnia. Some research suggests the even CBD oil can help with insomnia and its symptoms. Herbal supplements have grown in popularity for insomnia patients. Multiple herbs have been proven to relax the body.
